Since 1969, parents, community leaders, and local businesses have volunteered their time, materials, and experiences to provide a sports complex and recreational youth sports programs to the children of Berkley, MA and surrounding communities. In addition to recreational baseball, softball, basketball and soccer, we offer an inclusive travel program designed to allow additional playing opportunities in a more competitive environment with other communities and organizations. 

As we all know and experience, Berkley is a small and wonderful town.  There is no better place to live, raise a family and take part in community activities.  Our lack of some traditional municipal resources has actually become a blessing – by bringing together families and neighbors to support our local causes.  We get to know and depend upon each other.  We look out for each other’s kids at school activities, sports and endless birthday parties!

The BAA is just another extension of that support we provide to each other.  Rather than simply being a group of administrators and decision makers, it is you and me and any other resident willing to be involved.  Not only do you meet great people, you are able to feel proud in taking an active role in shaping the environment and opportunities for our children.

As you can imagine, the BAA is a constantly changing group.  As our children grow and take on other challenges, we shift our focus and priorities as parents.  This is exactly why your involvement is needed.  Our kids are only young for such a seemingly short time in their lives.   Nothing is more valuable or rewarding to them as your participation in their interests and activities.

Everyone has something to offer.  Whether a small amount of time to volunteer for a brief project, or specific skills for major tasks - everything helps!  And as always, remember the BAA is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization.  Any financial contribution made (from buying raffle tickets or a burger to writing a check) goes directly to supporting the programs our kids enjoy.

We encourage you to speak with an active BAA member or attend a BAA monthly meeting on the first non-holiday Monday of the month at 8pm at the Berkley American Legion Hall at 80 Myricks Street.  Meetings are informal and everyone is encouraged to attend.
